I wanted to take a moment to share a bit more about 101Spa, our vision, and where we are in the process of bringing this dream to life. As you might have guessed, we’re still very much in the planning stages, and there’s a long road ahead.
That said, I’m incredibly excited about the journey and the opportunity to create something truly special. Some will probably wonder why we made this website, but its because we know our digital pressence is by far one of the most important parts.
A Vision in Progress
Right now, 101Spa is more of a concept than a fully fleshed-out plan. The idea came from a desire to merge the best of Iceland’s natural beauty and wellness traditions with a luxury experience that would stand out, not just locally but globally. We want to create a space where people can come to relax, rejuvenate, and reconnect—not just with themselves but also with the stunning environment that Iceland offers.
Iceland is already famous for its geothermal pools, breathtaking landscapes, and incredible northern lights. With 101Spa, we hope to build something that complements these natural wonders, offering a blend of traditional Icelandic treatments and cutting-edge wellness technology. Whether it’s soaking in mineral-rich geothermal baths, experiencing a volcanic stone massage, or simply relaxing in a tranquil space designed with Scandinavian elegance, the goal is to create a haven of tranquility and renewal.
Challenges and Next Steps
Of course, having a vision is one thing, but making it a reality is another! Right now, we’re focused on the practicalities of turning this dream into something tangible. One of the biggest hurdles is finding the perfect location. A spa isn’t just about the building; it’s about the atmosphere, the surroundings, and the feeling that guests get the moment they arrive.
We’ve done some initial calculations to figure out how much we’ll need to invest in building 101Spa. As you can imagine, it’s no small number, and that’s why we’re taking our time to ensure every aspect is planned carefully. The location, in particular, is critical. It needs to be somewhere that captures the essence of Iceland, with easy access to Reykjavík for visitors while still feeling like an escape from the everyday.
Reykjavík: The Heart of It All
We’ve been focusing on Reykjavík as the ideal base for 101Spa. It’s a vibrant, cosmopolitan city that attracts visitors from all over the world, making it the perfect starting point for a luxury spa experience. Reykjavík’s proximity to Iceland’s stunning natural attractions is another big plus. Guests could spend the day exploring waterfalls, glaciers, or the Golden Circle and then unwind at the spa in the evening.
However, we haven’t yet found a location in Reykjavík that feels just right. The space needs to be large enough to accommodate our vision while still being adaptable to the unique design and atmosphere we’re aiming for. It’s a delicate balance, but I’m confident the right spot is out there—we just need to find it.
Your Input is Welcome
That brings me to my next point: If you know of any available spaces in Reykjavík that might be a good fit, I would be so grateful if you could share your suggestions. Whether it’s a piece of land, a building with potential for renovation, or even a lead on someone who might know of something, any input would be incredibly helpful.
Iceland is such a special place, and Reykjavík is such a dynamic city. I feel strongly that 101Spa could become a meaningful addition to both, offering locals and visitors alike a chance to experience wellness in a way that’s deeply rooted in Icelandic culture.
Looking Ahead
For now, we’re taking things one step at a time. There’s still so much to figure out—funding, permits, design, and of course, finding that ideal location. But I truly believe in this vision, and I’m excited to see how it evolves in the coming months and years.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting this idea in whatever way you can. If you have suggestions, advice, or just want to share your thoughts, I’m all ears.
